How can one increase electrical resistance?

Take into account that the resistance in a wire is given by:


R=(\rho L)/(A)

where p is the resistivity of the wire, L its length and A its tranversal area.

As you can notice, if L increases R increases. Then, you can increase the resistance by increasing the length.
