Assuming the table below represents the linear function, g(x). Thalia says that there is no y intercept of g(x). What would you say in response? Is she correct? Why or why not? х -3 g(x) 5 11 17 -1 1

By looking at the table, We can assume that is a linear function:

The y-intercept is where the line crosses the y-axis ( when x=0)

To answer this we have to write the equation of the line:

y=mx+b

m= slope

b= y intercept

Slope formula:

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)=(11-5)/(-1-(-3))=(6)/(2)=3

y= 3x+b

Replace x,y with a coordinate point from the table and solve for b.

5= 3(-3)+b

5= -9+b

5+9=b

14=b

y-intercept = 14

She is not correct.
