Given the linear equation

-8x+2y=6

We can find the y-intercept by setting x=0 and solving for y, as shown below

\begin{gathered} x=0 \\ \Rightarrow2y=6 \\ \Rightarrow y=3 \\ \Rightarrow(0,3)\to y-\text{intercept} \end{gathered}

To graph a linear equation, we need two points on it. We already have one (0,3), we can find a second one by setting x=1 and solving for y

\begin{gathered} x=1 \\ \Rightarrow-8\cdot1+2y=6 \\ \Rightarrow-8+2y=6 \\ \Rightarrow y=7 \\ \Rightarrow(1,7) \end{gathered}

Draw both points on the plane and cross them with a line, as shown in the image below

Where A=(0,3) and B=(1,7)
