SOLUTION

To answer the question, lets find x


\begin{gathered} 3x+5=x+9 \\ collecting\text{ like terms we have } \\ 3x-x=9-5 \\ 2x=4 \\ dividing\text{ by 2, we have } \\ (2x)/(2)=(4)/(2) \\ x=2 \end{gathered}

Since we got x = 2,

Hence the answer is YES
