initial distance = 1000 feet

1 day = 3/5 x 1000

= 600 feet

Remaining distance = 1000 - 600

= 400 feet

2nd day = 3/5 x 400

= 240 feet

Remaining distance = 400 - 240

= 160 feet

3rd day = 3/5 x 160

= 96 feet

Remaining distance = 160 - 96

= 64 feet

4th day = 3/5 x 64

= 38.4

Remaning distance = 64 - 38.4

= 25.6

therefore the remaining distance to the ocean after 4 days of travel = 30 ( to the nearest tenth place).
