Consider the functions f(x)=x^2-13and g(x)=x+5. what is the value of f[g(-4)] ?

first find g(-4):


g(-4)=x+5=-4+5=1

then, f (g(-4)):


f(g(-4))=f(1)

therefore


f(1)=x^2-13=1^2-13=1-13=-12

answer: - 12
