Andrew has saved $4000 for paying his bills. He withdraws $450 each month for these bills but also has to make sure his savings account doesn’t go below $1000 or else the bank will start charging him a fee. How many months can Andrew pay his bills for?

it is given that savings of andrew is 4000$

also he withdraws 450$ each month

so, the equation of remaining balance in his account is,

B = 4000 - 450m

here B = remaining balance,

m - no of months.

the limit of B is 1000$

so,

1000 = 4000 - 450 m

450m = 4000 - 1000

m = 3000/450

m = 6.66

thus, he can pay the bills for 6 months only

because the no. of months can not be in decimal

thus, the answer is 6 months
