From the given picture we can see that

A figure formed from

A semicircle with a radius of 3 ft

An isosceles triangle with 2 equal sides of 5 ft

A base equal to the diameter of the semicircle

A height of 4 ft

The rule of the area of the semicircle is

A_C=(1)/(2)*\pi* r* r

Pi = 3.14

r = 3

The rule of the area of the triangle is

A_T=(1)/(2)* base* height

Base = r + r = 3 + 3 = 6

Height = 4

The area of the figure is the sum of them

\begin{gathered} A=A_C+A_T \\ A=(1)/(2)*3.14*3*3+(1)/(2)*6*4 \\ A=14.13+12 \\ A=26.13\text{ ft}^2 \end{gathered}

The area of the figure is 26.13 ft^2

The answer is

A = 26.13 ft^2
