Part b

The equation of the height is,

h=256t-16t^2

Substitute 0 for t in the equation and solve he equation for t.

\begin{gathered} 256t-16t^2=0 \\ 16t(16-t)=0 \end{gathered}

So either 16t = 0 or 16 - t =0.

Simplfy the equations further for t.

\begin{gathered} 16t=0 \\ t=0 \end{gathered}

and

\begin{gathered} 16-t=0 \\ t=16 \end{gathered}

So t = 0 and t = 16.

Part c.

The t = 0 represents the initial condition and t = 16 represents the final point at which rocket hit the ground again and height become 0 feet.

So after 16 seconds rocket hit the ground.

Answer: 16 seconds
