To find the equation of the line we need the slope and the y-intercept
The slope is given by:
![m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/78uaqhwt0aws3qfwxigaftpihnmb1gzxtp.png)
Using the points given we have tha the slope is:
![\begin{gathered} m=(-3-1)/(0-(-5)) \\ m=(-4)/(5) \\ m=-(4)/(5) \end{gathered}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/w8v45f5my11hvxni48pss9rail9nxsa7zi.png)
The y-intercept is the value of y when x=0; fron the graph we have that b=-3.
Once we have the slope and y-intercept we plug them into the equation; hence the equation we are looking for is:
![y=-(4)/(5)x-3](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/6xnjsmwlxy6ykcvygag03jmgauoxyvh9ww.png)
