We can relate the anglex, the leg 8.6 and the hypotenuse 12 by means of the cosine function, that is,

\cos x=(8.6)/(12)

which gives

\cos x=0.71666

By applying inverse cosine in both sides, we have

x=\cos ^(-1)(0.7166)

then, x is equal to

x=44.22\text{ degre}es

Then, by rounding to the nearest tenth, the answer is 44.2 degrees
