This simply means that one has to solve both simultaneous equations and find the value for x and y

x = 6y + 51-------- (1)

x =37 -4y -------(2)

since equation 1 and 2 are both x, we can equate both equations so that

6y + 51 = 37-4y

6y +4y =37 -51

10y = -14

\begin{gathered} (10y)/(10)=\text{ }(-14)/(10) \\ y\text{ = -1.4} \end{gathered}

We now substitute for y in say equation 1

x = 6(-1.4) +51

x = -8.4 + 51

x = 42.6

since x and y have values then the problem has a solution and also since x and y have just one solution the solution is finite ansd not infinite possibilities
