Paramecia reproduce asexually by a process called binary fission. In this process, the paramecium duplicates its genetic material and subsequently divides into two identical organisms. This definition reminds us of the concept of mitosis. However, unlike mitosis, binary fission does not divide into phases and there is no condensation of genetic material into chromosomes.
