The given function is:

f(x) = x + 1

A = { -2, -1, 0, 1, 2}

To get all the elements in the set B, all the elements in set A will be substituted into the function f(x) to get the corresponding values of of elements in B.

When x = -2

f(-2) = -2 + 1

f(-2) = -1

When x = -1

f(-1) = -1 + 1

f(-1) = 0

When x = 0

f(0) = 0 + 1

f(0) = 1

When x = 1

f(1) = 1 + 1

f(1) = 2

When x = 2

f(2) = 2 + 1

f(2) = 3

Therefore the set B is fiven as:

B = { -1, 0, 1, 2, 3)

F(x)= x+1 maps A={-2, -1, 0, 1, 2} onto a set B-example-1
