PLEASE HELP I DONT UNDERSTAND THESE THAT WELL. All you have to do is get them to add up to 80 equally on both sides like a balance scale and can’t use same number twice

Solution:

It is divided 40 each on both sides

Let a represent heart

Let b represent triangle

Let c represent flower

For the right side;

There are 5 hearts, i.e.

\begin{gathered} 5a=40 \\ a=(40)/(5) \\ a=8 \end{gathered}

For the left side;

\begin{gathered} 2b+c+a+4c=40 \\ Where\text{ a}=8 \\ 2b+5c+8=40 \\ 2b+5c=40-8 \\ 2b+5c=32...(1) \\ And \\ 2b+c=4c \\ 2b=4c-c \\ 2b=3c...(2) \end{gathered}

Substitute 3c for 2b into equation (1)

\begin{gathered} 2b+5c=32 \\ 3c+5c=32 \\ 8c=32 \\ c=(32)/(8) \\ c=4 \\ Substitute\text{ 4 for c into equation} \\ 2b=3c \\ 2b=3(4) \\ 2b=12 \\ b=(12)/(2) \\ b=6 \end{gathered}

Hence, the answer is

\begin{gathered} heart=a=8 \\ triangle=b=6 \\ flower=c=4 \end{gathered}
