To find angle AED, we will folloow the steps below;

AEC + AED = 180° ----------------------------------------(1)

Reason for the above is that angle on a straight line is always 180°

From the diagram

angle AEC = 50°

substituting AEC = 50° in equation (1)

AEC + AED = 180°

50° + AED = 180°

substract 50° from both-side of the equation

50°- 50° + AED = 180° - 50°

AED = 130°

Hence angle AED is equal 130°

Similarly

AED + DEB = 180° ( angle on a straigt line is equal to 180°)

But we, know angle AED = 130° from our findings.

Substituting AED into the equation below:

AED + DEB = 180°

130° + DEB = 180°

subtracct 130° from both-side of the equation

130° - 130° + DEB = 180° - 130°

DEB = 50°

Hence angle DEB = 50°
