\sqrt[]{9}

Factor the number 9.


\begin{gathered} \sqrt[]{9}=\sqrt[]{3*3} \\ =\sqrt[]{3^2}^{}\text{ ---(1)} \end{gathered}

According to radical rule,


\sqrt[]{a^2}=a\text{ , a}\ge0

Applying the radical rule to right hand side of equation (1),


\sqrt[]{9}=3

Therefore, the correct expression is,


\sqrt[]{9}=3
