Early this morning, I was in the teacher’s lounge early. In the lounge, there are vending machines--one that sells only bottled water and one that sells different flavors of juice. Coincidentally, the person who services those machines was also there making his morning delivery. When I entered the room, he was filling the water machine. Wow, was there a lot of water in that machine! I asked the man how many bottles the machine could hold, and he told me 156! Next to the machine, I noticed he had a cart with the water bottles on it. The bottles were in six-packs, and he had to tear the bottles out of their six-pack holders to put them in the machine. That got me thinking. I wonder how many six-packs the machine will hold?

We have from the question that:

1. The machine can hold 156 water bottles.

2. The bottles were in six-packs.

How many six-packs the machine will hold?

In this case, we need to divide the 156 water bottles into 6 to have the six-pack holders.

Then, we have that:

s=(156)/(6)\Rightarrow s=26

Therefore, the machine will hold 26 six-packs.

We can check this if we multiply 26 * 6 = 156 water bottles.
