The second number in the pair is four more than the first number. Which ordered pairs can be described by this rule? A (3, 7) and (6, 10) B (9, 14) and (12, 16) C (2, 6) and (8, 14) D ( 6, 10) and (17, 22)

Here, we have a rule to follow and we want to select which of the pairs follow these rules

Let the second number in each of the brackets be y while the first number in each of the brackets x

From the rule, second number is four more than the first number

Mathematically, this can be interpreted as;

y = x + 4

Let us look at the first pair

3 and 7

7 = 3 + 4

This follows the rule

secondly;

10 = 6 + 4

we can see that the pairs in the first option follows the rule

Thus, option A is the ordered pair we are looking for
