The slope of a line

Given a line and two points through which it passes, say (x1,y1) and (x2,y2), the slope can be calculated as follows:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Taking a look at the graphed line in the figure, we can detect two clear points in red dots: (-4,-4) and (-2,2).

Let's compute the slope:

m=(2+4)/(-2+4)=(6)/(2)=3

The slope is m=3
