X=\mleft\lbrace a,b,c\mright\rbrace;\text{ Y=}\mleft\lbrace1,2\mright\rbrace

To find the cartesian product of X x Y, we have:

X\text{ x Y=}\mleft\lbrace(a,1\mright),(a,2),(b,1),(b,2),(c,1),(c,2)\}

To find the cartesian of Y x Y, we have:

Y* Y=\mleft\lbrace(1,1\mright),(1,2),(2,1),(2,2)\}
