The food cost percentage for a restaurant for the month is 36%. If $29,580 was taken in that month, how much of that amount went for the cost of food?

In this problem the total amound (29580) represent the 100% so we have to calculate the 36% with a rule of three so:


\begin{gathered} 29580\to100 \\ x\to36 \end{gathered}

and the equation is:


\begin{gathered} x=(36\cdot29580)/(100) \\ x=10648.8 \end{gathered}

So the cost of the food is $10,648.8 dollars
