An escalator at a shopping center is 200ft 9inch long and rises at an angle of 15 degrees. What is the vertical rise of the escalator? Round to the nearest inch. I have my work shown for this problem. I just wanted to make sure I did the steps and arrived at the answer correct. This is for problem 8

Given

Escalator = 200 ft 9 in

angle = 15 degree

Procedure

1 ft = 12 inches

200 ft = 2400 inches

So, 200 ft 9 in = 2409 inches

Let us consider that vertical rise of escalator is x .

Applying Sine of angle.

\begin{gathered} \sin15=(x)/(2409) \\ x=2409*\sin15 \\ x=2409*0.26 \\ x=623.5\text{ inches} \end{gathered}

Thus, the vertical rise of escalator is 623.5 inch.
