A student in an ancient history class brough in a coin marked 453 BC. the coin was passed among the members of the class, who were quite excited over handling a piece of money that seemed so old. suddenly one member of the class held out the coin and shouted "it's a fake". after a brief discussion, the entire class agreed. how did the class member know that the coin was a fake?

Because the year 453bc would have been known back then. It’s before “Christ” so they would know to use bc
