Dimensions:

(x-3)

(x+2)

Perimater = sum of sides:

Perimeter = 14 in

Replacing:

14 in = 2 (x-3) + 2 (x+2)

Solve for x :

14 = 2x-6 + 2x + 4

combine like terms:

14 = 2x+2x-6+4

14 = 4x - 2

14+2 = 4x

16 = 4x

16/4 = x

x = 4

Dimensions:

(x-3) = 4-3 = 1

(x+2) = 4 + 2 = 6
