Solution

What is the measure of the circle:

radius of the circle = 8

measure of the minor arc = 40

Using the Area of the pink sector formula:

A=(\theta)/(360)*\pi r^2

\begin{gathered} A=(\theta)/(360)*\pi r^2 \\ A=(40)/(360)*3.14*8^2 \\ A=22.33m^2 \end{gathered}

Area of the grey sector:

\begin{gathered} A=(\theta)/(360)*\pi r^2 \\ A=(320)/(360)*3.14*8^2 \\ A=178.63m^2 \end{gathered}

Area of the circle:

\begin{gathered} A=\pi r^2 \\ A=3.14(8)^2 \\ A=200.96m^2 \end{gathered}
