You have the following equation:

5n + 34 = -2 + 14n

in order to solve the previous equation, proceed as follow:

5n + 34 = -2 + 14n subtract 14n and 34 both sides

5n - 14n = -2 - 34 simplify both sides

-9n = -36 divide by -9 both sides

n = -36/(-9)

n = 4

Then, the value of n is n = 4
