You have the following expression:

(1-3z)/(8)=(10-2z)/(10)

In order to determine if z=-5 is a solution to the previous equation, replace z=-5 and verify the equation, just as follow:

\begin{gathered} (1-3(-5))/(8)=(10-2(-5))/(10) \\ (16)/(8)=(20)/(10) \\ 2=2 \end{gathered}

Hence, z=-5 is a solution of the given equation
