PART A

45 pounds at 3 dollars.

To find per dollar pounds, we divide:

45 /3 = 15 pounds per dollar

PART B

Let's find per dollar pounds of store Y:

56/4 = 14 pounds per dollar

So,

The better price is Store X [at 15 lbs per dollar]

PART C

The volume of the sand box is:

5 * 7 * 2 = 70 cubic feet

For 70 cubic ft, Brady will need:

70 * 100 = 7000 pounds

For 1 dollar, you get 15 pounds [store x], so

7000/15 = $466.666

Rounded,

Brady will need $466.67 to fill up his sandbox.
