Given the formula of the surface area of a prism

SA=2(lb+lh+bh)
\begin{gathered} \text{where} \\ \text{length}\Rightarrow l=12\operatorname{cm} \\ \text{breadh}\Rightarrow b=8\operatorname{cm} \\ \text{height}=h=8\operatorname{cm} \end{gathered}

Substitute for the values of l,b and h in the surface area formula give above

\begin{gathered} SA=2\lbrack(12*8)+(12*8)+(8*8)\rbrack \\ =2(96+96+64) \\ =2(256) \\ =512\operatorname{cm}^2 \end{gathered}

Hence, the surface area of this rectangular prism is 512 cm²

Option C is the correct answer
