1.How many different species are there? There are 9 species on planet fabula2.How many different genus groups are there? List them.3.Do you think all of these creatures would belong in the same Kingdom? Why or why not?4.Explain in your own words the order in which the creature's traits may have evolved, starting from the first likely trait. (Hint: Which trait is most common across the creatures?)

This is an exercise about the identification and classification of organisms using fictional examples.

The first step was to classify the organisms using a dichotomic key, which told us that the 10 individuals belonged to the following species:

0. Fuzzuz tallywag, (1. fur, 3. one eye, 7. tail)

,

1. Fuzzus pointilus, (1. fur, 3. two eyes, 8. two teeth, 9. pointy)

,

2. Silkis duosquirmus, ,(1. smooth skin, ,2. two eyes,, 5. legs only).

,

3. Fuzzus chompilus, (,1. fur,, 3. two eyes, 8. more than two teeth)

,

4. Silkus stretchilus, (1. smooth skin, 2. two eyes, 5. arms and legs, 6. no tail)

,

5. Silkus tallyhas, (1. smooth skin, 2. two eyes, 5. arms and legs, 6. tail)

,

6. Fuzzus feelzalot ,(1. fur, 3. one eye, 7. no tail)

,

7. Silkis monosquirmus, ( 1. smooth skin, 2. one eye, 4. legs only)

,

8. Fuzzus squarilus, (1. fur, 3. two eyes, 8. two teeth, 9. square)

,

9. Silkus monowrestle, (1. smooth skin, ,2. one eye,, 4. arms and legs)

This means that we have 10 organisms from 10 different species (1), belonging to 2 different genus: Silkis and Fuzzus (2).

3) Given that they all seem to have very similar characteristics, such as eyes, mouths and teeth, is very probable that they belong to the same Kingdom.

4) Some of the characteristics that they all share and thus is more likely to have evolved first are: legs, presence of teeth, and presence of at least an eye.
