Answer:

Slavery never was existent until the europeans came to Africa , after that the African tribes desperate for money had succumb devastating effects in Africa. Economic incentives for warlords and tribes to engage in the slave trade promoted an atmosphere of lawlessness and violence. Depopulation and a continuing fear of captivity of regular civilians made economic and agricultural development almost impossible throughout much of western Africa. That is also why Africa is one of the many places that has no agricultural or structural development out of all the nations in the world. So in other words it didn't change slavery it changed the people of Africa making their people turn on one another for profit.

ALSO

Slavery was used for everything from cooks , cleaners , agricultural benefit ETC , Slavery was actually so profitable, it sprouted more millionaires per capita in the Mississippi River valley than anywhere in the nation. With cash crops of tobacco, cotton and sugar cane, America's southern states became the economic engine of the burgeoning nation. In other words it flourished the economy for the southeners.
