An organic chemistry student prepared 356. mL of a cyclohexane-ethanol Solution at 25.0 Celsius by measuring out 193 mL of cyclohexane and 153 mL of ethanol and mixing them. Calculate the volume percentage of the cyclohexane in the solution. Be sure your answer has a right significant digits.(55.8% is wrong)

The expression used to calculate the volume percentage is: % (v/v) = (volume of solute) / (volume of solution) x 100.

volume of solute = 193 mL

volume of solution = 356 mL

% (v/v) = (volume of solute) / (volume of solution) x 100.

% (v/v) = (193/356) x 100

% (v/v) = 54.2 %

Answer: 54.2%
