Solution

For this case we need to remember that 1ft = 12in

We can calculate the z score given by:


z=(x-\mu)/(\sigma)

Women

5' 5in = 60+ 5= 65 in

Replacing we got:


z=(65-65)/(2)=0

Men

6' 1 in= 72+1 = 73 in

5' 8in= 68in


z=(68-73)/(3)=-1.67

Then is relatively taller a women with 5' 5
