Find the volume of a cone with a base radius of 5 yd and a height of 9 yd.Use the value 3.14 for it, and do not do any rounding.Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.

Solution

The volume of a cone is given as


\begin{gathered} V=(1)/(3)\pi r^2h \\ \\ \text{ where r is the radius} \\ \\ \text{ and h is the height} \end{gathered}

Given

r = 5 yd

h = 9 yd


V=(1)/(3)*3.14*5^2*9=235.5\text{ yd}^3

Therefore, the Volume is 235.5 yard cubic
