The surface area of a rectangular prism is equal to

SA=2B+PH

where

B is the area of the base

P is the perimeter of the base

H is the height of the prism

step 1

Find out the value of B

B=(5)(8)

B=40 in2

step 2

Find out the perimeter of the base P

P=2(5+8)

P=26 in

step 3

Substitute given values and calculate the surface area

H=4 in

SA=2(40)+26(4)

SA=184 in2

option C
