the best way to resolve this is by using the formula for the area of a triangle

A=(x\cdot h)/(2)

where A is the area, x is the base of the triangle, and h is the height

we know that A=96 square units, and h=9.6 units

then,

96\text{ sq units=}(x\cdot9.6units)/(2)
\frac{(96sq\text{ units}\cdot2)}{9.6\text{ units}}=20units=x

The answer is x=20 units
