The equation representing the charge of the phone company for n minutes talked is expressed as

C(n) = 11 + 0.04n

It can also be written as

C(n) = 0.04n + 11

nThe rate of change is also the slope of the equation. It is 0.04

The initial value is also the y intercept of the equation. It is 11

Recall, we compared it with the slope intercept equation which is expressed as

y = mx + c

where

m = slope

c = y intercept + 11
