We have the following:

\begin{gathered} y=(1)/(2)x+1 \\ y=(1)/(2)x-1 \end{gathered}

we equalize the equations and we have:

\begin{gathered} (1)/(2)x+1=(1)/(2)x-1 \\ (1)/(2)x-(1)/(2)x=-1-1 \\ 0=-2 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the answer is C. there is no solution
