Step 1

Write the ratio equation that can be used to solve the problem.

\frac{students\text{ that ride the bus to PPCC daily }}{\text{Total number of students}}=\frac{x}{\text{number of students in the maths class}}

Students that ride the bus to PPCC daily = 100

Total number of students = 480

x = number of maths students that ride the bus to PPCC

Number of students in the maths class = 24

Step 2

Substitute and get the required answer.

\begin{gathered} (100)/(480)=(x)/(24) \\ 2400\text{ = 480x} \\ x\text{ = }(2400)/(480)=5 \\ x=5 \end{gathered}

Hence, the number of maths students that ride the bus to PPCC is 5
