Let x be the number of visits Isaiah can make to earn his free movie ticket.

Since each visit earns him 6.5 points, then it will be multiplied to x.

He also receives 75 points just for signing up.

The left side of the inequality is

6.5x+75

Since he needs at least 140 points, then it will be on the right side of the inequality with the symbol ≥

Putting it together, the inequality is

6.5x+75\ge140

Now that we have our inequality, we can now solve for the number of visits he has to make to earn his free movie ticket.

\begin{gathered} 6.5x+75\ge140 \\ \text{subtract both sides by 75},\text{ to remove 75 on the left side.} \\ \\ 6.5x+75-75\ge140-75 \\ 6.5x\ge65 \\ \\ \text{Divide both sides by 6.5, to eliminate the 6.5 multiplier} \\ \frac{\cancel{6.5}x}{\cancel{6.5}}\ge(65)/(6.5) \\ x\ge10 \end{gathered}

Therefore, Isaiah needs at least 10 visits to earn a free ticket.
