Let,

\begin{gathered} 12x+5y=-24\ldots(1) \\ 13x-5y=14\ldots(2) \end{gathered}

Perform the operation (1)+(2),

\begin{gathered} 12x+5y+(13x-5y)=-24+(14) \\ 12x+13x+5y-5y=-10 \\ 25x+0y=-10 \\ 25x=-10 \\ x=(-10)/(25) \\ x=(-2)/(5) \end{gathered}

Substitute the value of x=-2/5 in the expression (1).

\begin{gathered} 12*(-2)/(5)+5y=-24 \\ 5y=-24+(24)/(5) \\ 5y=(-96)/(5) \\ y=(-96)/(5*5) \\ y=(-96)/(25) \end{gathered}

Thus, the value of x is -2/5 and value of y is -96/25.
