We are asked to determine the kinetic energy of an object. To do that we will use the following formula:

k=(1)/(2)mv^2

Where "m" is the mass and "v" the speed of the object. Replacing the known values we get:

k=(1)/(2)(2.4\operatorname{kg})(12(m)/(s))^2

Solving the operations we get:

k=172.8J

Therefore, the kinetic energy is 172.8 Joules.
