The volume of a sample of gas is 750 ml at 75°C and 0.750 atm. At what temperature (in °C) will the sample occupy 1.000 liters under a pressure of 1.00 atm?

to determine the the solution of this problem we need to used the combined gas law which states :

P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

we can rearrange this and make T2 the subject of the formula like so:

T2 = (P2V2)T1/ P1V1

= (1atm x 1000ml)x 75/ 750 ml x 0.750 atm

= 133 degrees celcius
