How to find percentages in numbers?

Percentages are expressed in terms of 100. The symbol is %. Assuming the total number of oranges shared among 2 boys is 60. If one boy gets 40 oranges, the percentage of the total orange that the boy got would be expressed as

40/60 * 100 = 66.67%

The percentage is calculated with respect to the total.

Again, we can express a given number in terms of percentage. If we want to express 3/4 in terms of percentage, it becomes

3/4 * 100 = 75%
