Solution:

For calculating the GPA, first, calculate the quality points for each grade and course and then add them up like shown below:

A - 4 points x 3 credit hours = 12

B - 3 points x 4 credits hours =12

B - 3 points x 4 credits hours = 12

C -2 point x 3 credits hours = 6

D - 1 point x 4 credit hours= 4

Now add up all the quality points :

3(12)+6\text{ + 4 = 46}

Add the credit hours as well :

4+4+4+3+3\text{ = 18}

now, divide the total quality points by total credit hours to get the GPA:

(46)/(18)=\text{ 2.55}\approx2.6

we can conclude that the correct answer is:

2.6
