The inequality is ;

27 < 5x + 7 or 5x + 7 > 27 and this means;

4 < x or x > 4

Here, we want to write an inequality of the statement given

Let the number be x

5 times the number = 5 * x = 5x

5 times the number increased by 7 is 5x + 7

27 is smaller than this means it is less than it

Applying the inequality sign;

27 < 5x + 7 or 5x + 7 > 27

To solve the inequality, we have the following;

27 - 7 < 5x or 5x > 27-7

20 < 5x or 5x > 20

divide both sides by 5

20/5 < 5x/5 or 5x/5 > 20/5

4 < x or x > 4
