An even function is a function that when you substitute the value of x with -x, the value of the function remains the same. For example:

f(x)=x^2\text{ ; if x = 2 }\Rightarrow f(x)=2^2\text{ = 4, if x = -2 }\Rightarrow f(x)=(-2)^2\text{ = 4}

The above function is an even function

In this an even function
