Given the following question:

Scale factor is basically finding how a shape gotten bigger/smaller than the orginal shape.

\frac{copy}{\text{orginal}}

To find the scale factor we divide one of the orginal side by one of the copy sides

For example:

We know that the two triangles are similar.

To find the scale factor we simply divide the two similar sides by each other, now if we have all three sides, we still know that the triangles are similar. So simply divide the similar sides by each other and you will still have the same answer.

(copy)/(og)=(20)/(5)=20/5=4

The scale factor of these two triangles is 4.

Or the copy is 4 times bigger than the original.
