In this problem

P ----> dependent variable (total pay)

N ---> independent variable (the number of copies of English is Fun she sells)

so

The linear equation is of the form

P=mN+b

where

m is the slope or unit rate ------> m=$50 for every copy she sells

b is the initial value or y-intercept ----> b=$2,200

therefore

The linear equation is

P=50N+2,200

For N=23 copies

substitute in the equation

P=50(23)+2,200

P=$3,350
